Performance, stability, and better top task reporting
1.0 Top task reporting
One of our goals at Skyra is to be the world's best tool for top task insights. We are not quite there yet, but in December we have focused on some important improvements to top task reporting.
1.1 Updated top task list
Performance has been our main focus for the task list, but we also found time to add a breakdown of completion rates for mobile and desktop directly in the list.
Segmentation is key to understanding where improvements can be made. For most web applications, top tasks are likely to differ considerably between mobile and desktop. You can now find those differences quickly and easily.

1.2 Warning when completion rate calculations have low statistical significance
We have made it clearer when there are too few responses to rely on the completion rate.

1.3 Task page: Segments (audiences)
Faster, better reporting of segments within a top task. We have optimised loading times, redesigned the layout, made segments sortable, and adjusted the charts. These statistics could previously feel slow and choppy, but now they are much smoother to use.

1.4 Find free-text feedback for a single top task faster
Previously, you had to use the response table to find text feedback, which was cumbersome and inefficient. We have now added free-text results cards to the Task Page. Every question asked in the top task survey gets a results card on the Task Page, showing answers from respondents who also came to carry out that task.

1.5 Responses moved to a separate view with only relevant columns
Within a top task, you can choose between two views for responses and results: Overview and Responses. Overview now focuses on high-level reporting. When you need more detail, go to the Responses view to explore further.

2.0 Performance and what comes next
December has mainly been about performance and optimising database queries down to milliseconds. The task list has received many performance improvements, and Findability users should also notice a much faster experience. The Summary page, survey report, and recruitment page have also improved significantly.
We have also made the survey widget load a little faster.
Introducing teams brought some performance challenges, but most of the performance we are not happy with comes down to the volume and complexity of the data.
What is coming in January?
January will primarily focus on performance, stability, and smaller feature improvements.
- The Survey report and Survey list have potential for further optimisation.
- We will add Responses as a separate table tab within a survey under the Surveys menu. When you only need responses from one survey, we can make assumptions that are not possible on the general responses page.
- Survey data collection can be made more robust.
- We plan to make survey publishing clearer and easier to understand.
